Aston Villa keen on sealing summer move for Mustafa Hekimoglu

Aston Villa will reportedly look to sign 18-year-old emerging Turkish attacking sensation Mustafa Hekimoglu from Besiktas in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Fanatik, Mustafa Hekimoglu is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are scouring the market for a young striker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Besiktas attacking sensation. They are keen on initiating discussions to sign the Turkish wonderkid in the coming months.

Who is Mustafa Hekimoglu?

Mustafa Hekimoglu is the latest highly-rated wonderkid to rise in prominence in his homeland. Several promising prospects have established a foothold in first-team squads at many well-known clubs, with Semih Kilicsoy, Arda Guler, and Kenan Yildiz making their mark in the last few years.

As for Hekimoglu, the teenage sensation has been with Besiktas since 2017, progressing through the ranks at the Super Lig club before breaking into the first-team squad as a 16-year-old half a dozen years later. Since then, the 18-year-old has made considerable progress while rising in stature within the senior setup.

The Turkish attacking sensation has turned out 36 times thus far for Besiktas while chipping in with one goal and one assist. While Hekimoglu has yet to set the stage alight, his age profile and potential have piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, with Aston Villa among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Aston Villa’s interest in Mustafa Hekimoglu makes sense. The Villans are scouring the market for a young striker heading into the summer transfer window. The West Midlands club replaced Jhon Duran with Marcus Rashford this past winter. However, the Manchester United misfit is eager to join Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

So, Aston Villa must look elsewhere for a versatile attacker, with Hekimoglu emerging as a viable target. The 18-year-old Turk can play across the frontline, making him a like-for-like alternative to Rashford, even though he will not be ready to become an undisputed first-choice starter next season.

Nevertheless, Hekimoglu is a viable target for Aston Villa, with the West Midlands outfit seeking talks over a possible move in the summer transfer window. Interestingly, the Turkish attacking prospect’s club teammate, Semih Kilicsoy, is also a target for Aston Villa. So, we may even see the two teenage sensations move to Villa Park in the coming months.
