According to a report by TEAMtalk, Rafael Leao is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The newly crowned Bundesliga champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Leroy Sane’s long-term future. So, the AC Milan star has emerged as a target for Die Roten.
The Bavarian giants have already opened talks with the Serie A giants and the Portuguese attacker’s agents to discuss a possible move in the summer transfer window. However, the former LOSC Lille winger is also a target for Manchester United. Meanwhile, AC Milan will demand around €100 million to part ways with him this summer.
Rafael Leao has come leaps and bounds since joining AC Milan from LOSC Lille in August 2019. The 25-year-old attacker’s form has reflected the Serie A club’s fortunes, and his inconsistencies in the 2024/25 season contributed to the struggling Italian giants’ horrendous campaign. Nevertheless, the player has excited many around him, including Bruno Fernandes, who has called him an “enormous talent” and a “phenomenal” footballer.
While Leao contributed to 25 goals in 50 appearances by finding the back of the net 12 times and providing 13 assists, those numbers do not justify his talent. Nevertheless, the Portuguese international is a hot property in the summer transfer window, with Bayern Munich and Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Manchester United’s interest in Rafael Leao is understandable. The Red Devils have scoured the market for a versatile attacker heading into the summer transfer window, as they will likely part ways with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony. So, the AC Milan star has emerged as a viable target for Manchester United.
As for Bayern Munich, Leroy Sane faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, as he has entered the final month of his contract. With several Premier League bigwigs vying for Sane’s signature, the Bundesliga champions are scouring the market for a long-term replacement. So, Leao is an option worth considering.
The Bavarian giants have already held talks with Leao’s representatives and AC Milan. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants want around €100 million to part ways with the 25-year-old Portuguese international. So, Bayern Munich might have leapfrogged Manchester United in the chase, also considering they can offer UEFA Champions League football.
