Cody Gakpo happy at Liverpool amid Bayern Munich links

Cody Gakpo is reportedly happy at Liverpool and could stay put at the club amid links to Bayern Munich as there are changes planned by Arne Slot.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Cody Gakpo could stay at Liverpool despite some exit rumours surrounding the Dutch international. The versatile attacker has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, although he seems happy at the Merseysiders and likely to continue under Arne Slot despite the many changes planned to their attacking setup.

Liverpool are acting rapidly in the market to secure their priority targets and get ready for the new season. There are still many important positions under the works, as Arne Slot is keen to revamp his attacking setup to a certain degree, which could see a few notable names leave the club.

Of those Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa are the prime candidates, as they are not seen as important anymore by Arne Slot. There are also concerns about Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz’s future, as there’s a distinct possibility for one of those to depart for a huge fee.

As per Merseyside outlet Empire of the Kop, Gakpo is being valued at €100 million, however, there’s a possibility that Liverpool could potentially accept an offer for significantly less. Arne Slot wants to keep Gakpo in the team and continue to have him as a good option, as the Dutchman has been a productive presence during last season.

Gakpo was linked with a move to Bayern Munich, with the German giants open to the prospect of paying a huge fee to secure the versatile €100 million-rated attacker. However, Gakpo seems happy at Liverpool and might lean towards staying at the club, although things could still change depending on how the market shapes up between now and September.

Are Liverpool to sell one of Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz?

While Gakpo could be potentially leaning towards a stay, Diaz is seemingly open to leaving Liverpool in the summer. There have been a lot of chatter surrounding the Colombian winger, as Liverpool rebuffed an approach from Barcelona.

The idea here might lean towards Liverpool potentially accepting a larger offer to allow them to replace one of the departures with the right quality. Hence, while Gakpo could stay on, Diaz might be the player the club could cash in, as the story reporting Brcelona’s approach also indicated they are not preparing to offer the Colombian a new deal.
