Bryan Mbeumo wants to join Manchester United despite Tottenham’s interest

Bryan Mbeumo remains firm on his stance of joining Manchester United despite the recent interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Ben Jacobs, Manchester United’s move for Bryan Mbeumo is not in danger despite the entry of Tottenham Hotspur as part of the race. The north Londoners are keen to lure the Cameroonian through the arrival of a potential new manager and Brentford boss Thomas Frank, as Mbeumo remains keen to join the Red Devils.

Manchester United are planning on revamping their frontline ahead of the new season, with Matheus Cunha’s arrival already marking the first of the many signings. They are also keen to bring in a new wide attacker as well as a striker, with some notable departures planned as well as hefty arrivals.

One of their key targets includes Bryan Mbeumo, with Manchester United already seeing a bid rejected by Brentford in the last few days. The Cameroonian is keen to join the Red Devils as a preference over other suitors that also included Arsenal and Newcastle United.

There’s plenty of encouragement for Manchester United to complete the move, as the club are indeed closing in on Mbeumo. However, they must agree on a fee with Brentford before finalising the move for the player who had a stellar season last time out with 29 goals and assists to his name.

Meanwhile, personal terms are not considered a big issue for Manchester United, however, the interest from Tottenham could prove to be a bother of sorts. Spurs incidentally beat the Red Devils in the Europa League Final to qualify for the Champions League, which could be a big factor in attracting top players like the 29 G/A attacker.

Bryan Mbeumo wants Manchester United switch

Tottenham are also close to appointing Frank as their new manager following the sacking of Ange Psotecoglou. The Dane might be key to luring Mbeumo to Spurs, as this has become a source of concern for Manchester United, although they can relax because of the player’s stance.

Mbeumo has not changed his mind about joining Manchester United as he still prefers the switch to Old Trafford despite the interest from Tottenham. Hence, it’s a matter for the Red Devils to get a deal done with Brentford and bring the Cameroonian to the club.
