Arsenal rival Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle United in Antonio Nusa chase

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are ready to battle rivals Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle for the signature of RB Leipzig sensation Antonio Nusa.

Antonio Nusa could be heading to the Premier League this summer as multiple top clubs are keen on his signature. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are ready to rival Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle in the race for his signature.

Nusa made quite a name for himself while playing for Club Brugge. He was already on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe but RB Leipzig managed to beat the competition to his signature.

The German club signed him ahead of the 2024/25 season and he certainly proved to be a valuable addition as he ended up contributing towards 16 goals for club and country.

While he prefers playing on the left flank, he was used in a variety of positions across the front line. The 20-year-old made the most out of the opportunities he got and he now finds himself on the wishlist of some of the biggest English clubs.

Nusa to move to England?

Chelsea seek more quality on the flanks with Jadon Sancho returning to his parent club, Mykhailo Mudryk serving a ban and Pedro Neto struggling for form. Nusa is one of the names on their wishlist.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are looking to add more depth on the flanks and the Norwegian international could prove to be a valuable acquisition for the short as well as the long run.

Aston Villa have also been scouting the 20-year-old alongside Chelsea and Newcastle. Unai Emery wants reinforcement in the final third as Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have returned to their parent club. Nusa with his versatility could certainly help their cause.

Arsenal to rival all three clubs

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have also entered the race for his signature and they are willing to battle the other three clubs. The North London club are already in talks with RB Leipzig as they look to strike a deal for Benjamin Sesko, who is their priority target at this stage.

During those talks, they are also considering making a move for Nusa. The Gunners want more competition on the flanks for the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. The former Club Brugge sensation could certainly rival them for a place in the XI and he could even cover for Bukayo Saka.

While all four clubs are closely monitoring him, none of them have made any formal moves to try and sign him just yet. More importantly, it is still not clear if the €45 million rated star is a priority target for any of these clubs.
