According to a report from TBR, Lukas Ullrich could soon be playing in the Premier League as Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Leeds United are all interested in the young full-back. He had an impressive season with Borussia Monchengladbach last time out and is currently doing wonders for Germany at the Under-21 Euros.
Ullrich recently put in an impressive display against England as he provided an assist and helped his team secure a 2-1 win. During the course of last season, the 21-year-old full-back was involved in a total of 33 matches for the German club’s first team, and he even contributed towards four goals.
He managed to displace Luca Netz on the left flank, and his performances have put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs in England. Monchengladbach are well aware of the rising interest in their full-back, who only has two years left on his deal.
They want to secure his long-term future and are pushing for a new deal. Meanwhile, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Leeds United are keeping a close eye on him ahead of a potential move. All four clubs want to add him to their squad and could make a move this summer.
Tottenham and Leeds are believed to be among the front-runners as they have been closely following him for some time. He is an ideal fit for Spurs, who have been targeting young stars of late and will continue in a similar fashion under Thomas Frank.
Meanwhile, newly-promoted Leeds are looking for a new left-back given that Junior Firpo’s contract at the club is set to expire. Ullrich could prove to be an ideal replacement for him.
Crystal Palace and Everton are also keeping tabs on the German youth international and could rival them. The Eagles have had a lot of success by investing in young stars, and they feel the 21-year-old could prove to be a great acquisition for them.
David Moyes is also looking for depth at the back, and Ullrich could certainly help his cause. Vitaliy Mykolenko is the only out-and-out left-back option at his disposal, so the German full-back could come in and compete for a place in the XI.
