La Liga outfit Sevilla have this week made official their very first signing with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Andalusian side? Alfonso González, better known as Alfon.
Versatile attacker Alfon had actually long had an agreement in place with the board at Sevilla.
This came after the 26-year-old made the call not to commit to a renewal with Celta Vigo, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms this summer.
Recent months had seen Alfon’s pre-contract agreement with Sevilla thrown into doubt, amid murmurs of interest from elsewhere across the continent.
But as alluded to above, this week, the Nervionenses have landed their man.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms on Tuesday:
‘Alfonso González Martínez, known as Alfon, became Sevilla FC’s first signing for the 2025/26 season on July 1st. Born in Albacete, 26 years old, and 1.72 meters tall, Alfon has signed for the next three seasons with the Red and Whites.
