Bournemouth and Sunderland are in competition to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrović (25), according to a report from L’Équipe.
Petrović, despite a strong season on loan at partner club RC Strasbourg Alsace, is not expected to remain at Chelsea this summer. The Premier League side’s high valuation of the Serbian goalkeeper (€25m), also means that a return to Alsace is not on the cards.
He could instead remain in the Premier League. As per L’Équipe, both Bournemouth and Sunderland are interested in the goalkeeper. Bournemouth are in the market for a replacement for Kepa, who rejoined parent club Chelsea before being sold to Arsenal.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are still in the market for a goalkeeper. They had been intent on signing Marcin Bulka. However, Neom SC beat the Black Cats to the signing of the now-former OGC Nice shotstopper. Both Premier League sides are more capable of meeting Chelsea’s valuation than Strasbourg.
