Aston Villa enter Juanlu Sanchez sale, price tag revealed

Aston Villa will reportedly compete with Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, and Real Sociedad in the race to sign 22-year-old Spanish wide player Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Juanlu Sanchez is the subject of interest of Aston Villa. The Villans are eager to reinforce their defensive unit by signing a right-back next year. So, the 22-year-old Sevilla wide player has emerged as a target for the West Midlands outfit.

However, Aston Villa will face stiff competition for the Spaniard’s signature, with Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, and Real Sociedad among the prospective suitors vying for his signature. Meanwhile, Sevilla will demand around €20-25 million to part ways with the youngster.

Juanlu Sanchez and his career so far

Juanlu Sanchez has established himself as one of the best young prospects in La Liga since breaking into the first-team squad at Sevilla FC. The Montequinto native enjoyed his breakthrough at the Andalucian club a few years ago after spending his formative years in his homeland, and he has not looked back since then. The 22-year-old also won the gold medal with Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Spanish wide player has been a regular for Sevilla in the last two seasons, making nearly 100 appearances thus far for Los Nervionenses while chipping in with six goals and nine assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Aston Villa among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Aston Villa’s interest in Juanlu Sanchez is understandable. While the West Midlands outfit signed a right-back earlier this year when Andres Garcia arrived from Levante, he has struggled to make his mark in the last ten months. So, a winter departure may be on the cards for the young full-back.

While Matty Cash has been impressive for Aston Villa, the Villans need another right-back to remain competitive in multiple games per week. The Sevilla wide player has thus emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa. However, they face stiff competition from Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad, and Napoli for the 22-year-old Spaniard’s signature.

Meanwhile, Sevilla will demand €20-25 million to part ways with Juanlu next year, making him an affordable target for Aston Villa. However, other Premier League clubs have also shown interest in the Spanish full-back, and the race to sign him should be intense.
