Adama Traore could be interested in West Ham United move

West Ham United are plotting a raid on Fulham as they look to sign Adama Traore, who could be keen on making the switch.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on reuniting with Adama Traore at West Ham United. The Portuguese manager is looking for more firepower in the final third, and he feels the Fulham speedster could help their cause.

After making a name for himself while playing for Wolves, Traore had a short loan stint at Barcelona. Upon his return, things did not really work out for him at the Black Country outfit, and he ended up leaving the club for Fulham in the summer of 2023 upon the expiry of his contract.

While the Spaniard has not lit up the world at the West London club, he has been an important part of their squad. However, his future seems to be away from the club as his contract runs out at the end of the season, and there are no signs of a potential renewal.

West Ham are keen on signing Traore

West Ham United have emerged as a potential destination for the 29-year-old. Their manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, was keen on signing him at Nottingham Forest before he was sacked just weeks into the new season. Now, he wants to reunite with the Spanish international at the London club.

Adama Traore had a tremendous amount of success under the Portuguese manager at Wolves. The duo share a very strong bond, and they would certainly love the opportunity to work under him once again.

While speaking about a potential reunion of the duo, O’Rourke said, “I’m sure it’s something that Nuno would probably like to explore. Traore probably enjoyed his best spell of form under Nuno at Wolves between 2018 and 2021. I think there’s admiration from both.

“So, potentially there could be interest in a reunion between the pair at West Ham. We know West Ham probably will be busy in the January market to try and improve their squad. They do lack a bit of pace in that side as well. So Traore would definitely go a long way to solving that as well and he is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season.”

West Ham’s plan to sign Adama Traore

Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on adding more firepower to his attack, and his team will certainly look to make a few moves in the winter. The Hammers want more quality on the flank, and they are on the lookout for someone with pace. Traore is seen as an ideal profile, and with his contract running down, he could be available at a bargain price.

Since West Ham do not have the best of financial situations, they could look to cash in on Niclas Fullkrug to fund the Traore move. The German striker has struggled since joining the Premier League outfit; getting him off their books will certainly make a lot of sense.
