Everton, Fulham in transfer tussle to sign Imran Louza

Fulham and Everton are part of a four-way battle in the chase for Imran Louza in January, with Watford sweating on their striker’s future.

According to TEAMtalk, Imran Louza is a potential target for at least four Premier League clubs. Fulham and Everton are part of a four-way battle for the 26-year-old Watford captain, as the EFL Championship club are sweating on their skipper’s immediate future.

Imran Louza is a player certainly not on top of any of the Premier League clubs’ shortlist, or not someone fans would want actively signed. However, when it comes to productivity and bringing in the results in a team, the Watford captain has shown plenty of promise in that regard.

Louza has six goals and as many assists from 21 Championship games, which is an exceptional return for a central midfielder. Watford would like to keep him for as long as possible, given the influence the 14-cap Morocco international has on the squad.

Watford are now sweating on the future of their skipper, with at least four Premier League teams keeping tabs. Fulham and Everton are embroiled in a battle for the signature of the 26-year-old, which also includes Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, as per the report.

Fulham are eager to strengthen their ranks, as Marco Silva might feel a bit short in central midfield, which then makes sense to pursue someone with the experience of Louza. It remains to be seen whether Watford will name a price, as they might be left powerless if the skipper decides to take up a challenge in the top flight.

Everton to push for Imran Louza?

Everton are the other big contender in the four-way battle for the 26-year-old Watford captain, as David Moyes wants midfield reinforcements in January. Names like Kobbie Mainoo have been mentioned as targets of late, and they are keen to keep hold of James Garner and other key first-team stars.

To further strengthen their midfield ranks, Everton have also recalled teenager Harrison Armstrong from his loan spell at Preston North End. They could also consider Louza to bring him to the club, as the 14-cap Moroccan international represents a value-for-money prospect in the current market.
