Paris FC pull out of Sidiki Chérif race with Angers forward seeking move abroad

Paris FC have pulled out of the race to sign SCO Angers forward Sidiki Chérif (19), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Chérif is one of the most sought-after players in Ligue 1 in the January transfer window. The Frenchman has scored four goals for Angers this season and has impressed many clubs across Europe with his performances. The likes of AC Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hamburg, and VfB Stuttgart have all shown an interest in signing the forward, as have Premier League side Crystal Palace.

All have now been given a major boost in their pursuit. Paris FC had looked to be leading the race to sign Chérif, submitting a €25m offer. However, he will not move to the Parisian club, Foot Mercato understands. Whilst the forward is still expected to leave Angers this month, he is favouring a move abroad. Les Parisiens are now looking at alternative targets, including Tottenham Hotspur’s Mathys Tel.
