Feyenoord make approach to sign Jesse Lingard

Feyenoord are reportedly interested in signing 33-year-old former Manchester United attacker, Jesse Lingard, in a bargain move.

Jesse Lingard is currently out of contract after leaving FC Seoul, and Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord are looking to bring him back to Europe. It will be interesting to see if the former Manchester United attacker is willing to join the club. Feyenoord are managed by Lingard’s former teammate Robin van Persie.

The former Dutch International striker hopes to add more quality and depth to the attacking unit and has identified his former teammate as a target, as per Football Insider. The 33-year-old will add quality and experience to the team. He has the potential to succeed in Dutch football, and signing him for free would be a low-risk move.

Jesse Lingard has played with van Persie at Manchester United, and they know each other well. It will be interesting to see if the player is willing to take up the opportunity and move to the Netherlands soon.

The Englishman will be hoping to play at a competitive level regularly, and moving to Feyenoord would be ideal for him. The Dutch giants, managed by van Persie, have already submitted an enquiry to sign the player on a free transfer. It remains to be seen whether all parties can get the deal done.

Lingard could be a bargain signing

If they manage to sign Jesse Lingard as a free agent, the deal could prove to be a major bargain. The Englishman has the technical attributes to hit the ground running in Dutch football, and he will look to establish himself as a key player for the team.

He has proven himself in the Premier League before, and there is no doubt he could make a defining contribution at the Eredivisie outfit as well. The experienced English attacker is entering the twilight stages of his career, and he needs to enjoy his football with regular opportunities now.

The move to Feyenoord makes a lot of sense, and it is unlikely that he will turn down the opportunity. It will be interesting to see whether all parties can finalise an agreement quickly.
