An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this weekend been dealt a setback on the fitness front.
The player in question? Jofre Torrents.
Youngster Jofre has for his part spent much of the campaign to date plying his trade with Hansi Flick’s senior Barcelona side.
Considered a future first-team star in Catalunya’s capital, the 19-year-old has even taken to the pitch for the reigning Spanish champions on four occasions.
This weekend, Jofre was back with the club’s reserve outfit, ahead of a meeting with Alcoyano.
And en route to a 1-1 draw for Barca Atlètic on Saturday, as alluded to above, the left-back suffered an alarming injury blow.
After going to ground, Jofre was helped from the field of play in evident pain, before being lifted off his feet entirely to head back to the dressing room.
It now remains to be seen if the Spanish starlet is facing up to any kind of significant stretch on the treatment table.
