Serie A side Torino are close to making the decision of sacking manager Marco Baroni, after months of speculation about his future.
The situation in Turin reached boiling point today as they lost 3-0 to Genoa in the afternoon. Baroni wasn’t present at the club’s press conference, as Il Toro opted for silence after the defeat.
This isn’t the first time Baroni’s future is under doubt but TMW report that the decision has now been made. Club owner Urbano Cairo is already in contact with Roberto D’Aversa, who can come in as a replacement in the next few days.
The Italian would ideally be signed on a contract until the end of the season but he can also demand an option to extend beyond the campaign. This could be tied to the club’s Serie A survival, with Torino currently at 15th in the table.
Baroni’s side have won only two in their last ten games, having conceded six goals against Como too.
