Real Madrid are considering making another run at Massimiliano Allegri, whose future at Milan is somewhat uncertain, after their attempts in 2019 and 2021 didn’t have the desired result. The coach didn’t feel ready to leave Italy at the time.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Los Galacticos will most likely be in the hunt for a new gaffer after sacking Xabi Alonso mid-season because he didn’t gel with the squad and promoting Castilla boss Alvaro Arbeloa as a caretaker manager.
Allegri had the chance to take over Real Madrid after the end of his first run at Juventus and before returning two years later. He’ll be an option following a strong campaign at Milan. Los Merengues are also courting Jurgen Klopp. He’s serving as the head of global soccer for the Red Bull group
The Italian tactician hinted at the buzz in a recent presser
“I’m completely in sync with the club, and we talk constantly. The most important thing is to work for the good of Milan. I’m happy to have returned here after 15 years and started working with this group.”
Per Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), Los Blancos will change their coach unless they win some titles. They haven’t made the call at this stage and will eventually mull over a few candidates. They surely liked the 58-year-old in the past.
Perhaps the most prestigious opening of them all could entice him, but he didn’t take the chance to stay in his comfort zone when he was a free agent. Unless the situation behind the scenes is way uglier than it transpires, it’d be stunning if he left San Siro after just one year, given his affinity for stability.
