Senny Mayulu (19) is nearing a departure from formative club Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Once again, as was the case with Gianluigi Donnarumma last summer, PSG are struggling to tie one of their players down to a new deal. Les Parisiens have brought in a new strategy when it comes to handing out contracts, with the big-money deals now consigned to the club’s past.
It caused an issue for Donnarumma, who did not come to an agreement with PSG and subsequently joined PSG in the summer. Mayulu’s contract is one that Les Parisiens are desperate to renew, given that his current deal expires at the end of next season.
Mayulu recently broke through into the first team and notably scored in the UCL final against Inter Milan. He has featured regularly this season, with Luis Enrique an admirer of the player’s versatility. He has been used across the forward line, as well as in midfield.
As per Le Parisien, Mayulu has refused three contract extension offers. In a chat with PSG fans on Wednesday, Le Parisien journalist Dominique Sévérac added, “From experience, PSG can accept one counter-offer, but not two. That is what is provoking his exit at the end of the season. The club don’t appreciate that he has rejected three offers. The point of no return has seemingly been reached”.
