Marseille retain Edon Zhegrova interest

Olympique de Marseille remain interested in Edon Zhegrova (26), despite missing out on the Kosovan winger during the summer transfer window, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Zhegrova’s final season at Lille OSC was badly injury-hit, but despite that, his previous season had seen him build up plenty of credit. As a result, when he became available on a free transfer, upon the expiry of his deal at LOSC, plenty of big clubs came in for him.

One of those clubs was Marseille, who offered the Kosovo international the chance to stay in France’s top-flight. However, he instead opted to join Juventus, signing a deal that runs until 2030. The deal has not worked out. Zhegrova has played just 20 games for the Serie A club in all competitions and he has yet to make a goal contribution.

OM retain their interest in Zhegrova and, with relationships between the two clubs strong, and with Juventus also interested in Marseille’s Mason Greenwood, there is the possibility of a deal being done.
