Ajax, Galatasaray, Juventus, Napoli have scouted Manuel Ugarte

Ajax, Galatasaray, Juventus, and Napoli are reportedly scouting Manchester United flop Manuel Ugarte ahead of a potential transfer.

Manuel Ugarte’s move to Manchester United has not gone according to plan, and the Uruguayan midfielder looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Ajax, Galatasaray, Juventus, and Napoli are all interested in signing the Manchester United flop. They have sent scouts to watch him in action in recent weeks.

Ugarte came up the ranks at Sporting CP and made quite a name for himself while playing for the Portuguese giants. His performances helped him secure a move to PSG. Unfortunately, he failed to establish himself as a key figure in the French club.

Ugarte’s frustrating Manchester United spell

Despite his struggles at PSG, Manchester United forked out a total of £50.5 million (including add-ons) to add Manuel Ugarte to their ranks in the summer of 2024. While they had massive expectations from the 24-year-old, he has failed to live up to them.

Multiple managerial changes have not helped his cause either. While he was hoping Michael Carrick’s arrival would help him revive his Manchester United career, even that has not happened. He remains hopeful of turning things around until the legendary former Manchester United midfielder, but there are few chances of him getting more minutes next season as well.

The Red Devils are looking to revamp their midfield in the upcoming transfer window. They are eyeing multiple signings in the centre of the park. While Casemiro is already leaving, they will also look to offload a few players, and Ugarte could be a part of that list.

Four European clubs want Manuel Ugarte

Despite his struggles, there is interest in his services from four clubs that were involved in this season’s Champions League. Ajax, Galatasaray, Juventus, and Napoli are all keen on his signature and have sent scouts to watch him up close in recent weeks.

They all want more quality in the centre of the park and believe the South American midfielder could help their cause. Ajax and Galatasaray might struggle to convince him, as the 24-year-old prefers playing in one of the top-five leagues in Europe. Ugarte wants his future sorted ahead of the FIFA World Cup, which means the next eight weeks will be very important.
