Liverpool rival Arsenal, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich in Honest Ahanor race

Liverpool are ready to battle Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich in the chase for highly rated Atalanta teenager Honest Ahanor.

According to Fussball Daten, Honest Ahanor is turning heads around the continent ahead of the summer, as Liverpool are the latest to enter the race for the highly rated defender. Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all keen to explore a deal for the Atalanta teenager, with a €40–50 million price point being mooted.

Ahanor is turning heads with his accomplished performances for Atalanta, but more so due to his versatility across that backline. The young defender of Nigerian descent can feature as a left-back, wing-back or centre-back, and his left-footed profile makes him all the more appealing to potential suitors, particularly from the Premier League.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also interested in such a profile, and without any surprise, the two European giants are keen on Ahanor. There is every chance that those clubs will go in big for the highly talented defender, for whom Atalanta are dreaming of achieving €60 million.

The report does state that, realistically, the Italian club might be open to the prospect of €40–50 million should a serious offer arrive on their table. They would also be open to keeping him for another season, which could help them increase his value to at least near the £50 million mark, and possibly even €60 million.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid could yet face challenges emerging due to heavy interest from Premier League clubs, with Arsenal among those keen. Mikel Arteta has done a fantastic job building one of the most formidable defensive set-ups in the world, but he would be open to exploring an opportunity to land one of the highly rated young defenders emerging out of Italy, who also happens to be highly versatile.

Liverpool to enter the Ahanor conversation?

Liverpool are the latest to enter the race for Ahanor, with Arne Slot’s side already planning for the future of their backline. Given that the €60 million-rated Serie A defensive wonderkid is already featuring at first-team level, that will make it an even more appealing prospect for the Reds should they consider a summer move.

Ahanor will be mindful of making a swift switch to one of the big continental or English clubs at this stage of his career. At the moment, he is steadily growing into a regular in Atalanta’s backline and could retain his spot next season — something that may carry significant weight in any decision regarding his immediate future at the club.
