‘When he doesn’t play, he’s a monster’ – Fabián Ruiz nearing PSG return ahead of Liverpool tie

Fabián Ruiz sustained what was thought to be a relatively innocuous knee injury at the end of January, however, he has not featured ever since for Paris Saint-Germain. The Spain international is, however, nearing a return to full fitness, as per a report from L’Équipe.

Ruiz has managed to train at PSG during the current international break and is now nearing a return to fitness as a result. Les Parisiens face Toulouse FC at the Parc des Princes on Friday night and L’Équipe understands that the Spaniard could feasibly be included in the matchday squad for the encounter. Luis Enrique did, however, say that there was a question mark around Ruiz’s participation against Le TéFéCé.

It is a boost for PSG, who next week will face Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg will take place at the Parc des Princes with the second leg a week later at Anfield.

It is good news for the player who has been “angry” and “frustrated” during his extended period of absence. “When he doesn’t play, he’s a monster,” joked a source at the European champions.
