Marco Palestra was one of the few Azzurri who showed up in Bosnia, even though he was debuting with the senior national team. Plenty of suitors have been keeping tabs on him this season, but the Serie A sides could be priced out of the race, L’Unione Sarda reports (via Zazoom).
Atalanta are well aware of the burgeoning bidding war. They have already set the bar at €50M. They’ll try to extend his contract, including a big pay increase, before deciding what to do ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter are currently leading the race for Palestra among Italian clubs. Juventus and Napoli haven’t been as active on him lately. The Nerazzurri could put more money on the table than their rivals if they completed some of their rumored sales.
On the other hand, the dynamic fullback is drawing significant interest in the Premier League as well. His agent, Alessandro Lucci, who has conducted a lot of business with English outfits, lastly Riccardo Calafiori, and could nudge him in that direction. Per Mediaset, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Newcastle United are expected to be in the mix, and so is Barcelona.
It’d be nice if Atalanta kept him for a season so he could fully flourish. He’s only missing some touch in the box to be one of the best specialists around. His motor and stamina are next level, and his charisma is impressive for a youngster. However, it’s hard to resist certain offers, and it’d be arduous for Serie A franchises to spend that much, especially for a secondary role, all things considered.
