Atletico Madrid line up summer move for Mohammed Kudus

Mohammed Kudus is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury at Tottenham, but he has impressed since joining the North London club.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Mohammed Kudus, and they are plotting a summer move for him. The Ghanaian attacker is reportedly valued at €60 million, and it will be interesting to see if Atletico Madrid follows up on their interest with an official proposal at the end of the season.

The Spanish giants could use more quality on the flanks, and the Ghanaian international has proven himself to be a reliable performer in the Premier League consistently. Prior to the move to Tottenham, he was excellent for West Ham United as well (19 goals and 13 assists in 80 matches). Kudus has the technical attributes to compete in La Liga and could be an asset to Atletico Madrid.

Mohammed Kudus Premier League 2025/26 stats

  • Starts: 19
  • Goals and assists: 7
  • Key passes per game: 1.3
  • Pass accuracy: 86%
  • Acc. crosses per game: 1.5
  • Succ. dribbles per game: 2.7

Kudus could fancy a big move

The opportunity to join the Spanish club could be exciting for the player as well. Tottenham are currently fighting for survival in the Premier League, and they are not in a position to compete for major trophies. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid could be pushing for both the league title and the UEFA Champions League next term.

Diego Simeone has a quality team and a world-class manager. Kudus is at the peak of his career, and he will not want to waste away at a club where he will not be able to fulfil his ambitions. However, Tottenham are under no pressure to sanction his departure.

Kudus signed a long-term contract with them when he joined in 2025, and it will be difficult for the Spanish club to get the deal done. For now, the former West Ham attacker will be determined to return from his injury blow and get back to his best once again.

It seems highly unlikely that Tottenham will sell one of their best attacking players in the summer, especially given their struggles in the final third. Kudus was a key player for them before his injury, and they were dependent on him for creativity. They will not want to lose the player in the summer.
