Manchester City in talks to sign Eduardo Conceicao, agent confirms

Manchester City are reportedly making significant progress in their pursuit of Palmeiras attacking sensation Eduardo Conceicao.

According to Jorge Nicola, Manchester City have stepped up their efforts to sign Eduardo Conceicao. They are in talks with Palmeiras, as confirmed by the teenager’s agent, Adriano Ribeiro. Talks are progressing nicely, and a formal offer will be made in the near future.

Conceicao is considered to be the next big thing to have come up the ranks at Palmeiras. At just 16, all of Europe is after his signature. Newcastle United have already tabled a bid, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring him. There is interest from PSG and Barcelona as well.

The teenage prospect was one of the standout performers at the South American Under-17 Championship. He finished with four goal contributions in as many matches. At the club level, the 16-year-old has eight goal contributions in his 13 outings for their Under-20 side this season.

While Conceicao prefers playing out wide on the left, he is comfortable enough to take up any role in attack. The 1.79m-tall forward has extreme pace, close control and the ability to take on defenders. His performances have resulted in interest from the biggest clubs in Europe.

Manchester City are ready to raid Palmeiras

Manchester City have also entered the race to sign Eduardo Conceicao. They seem quite serious about their pursuit and have already established themselves as front-runners. The City Group have had their eyes on the 16-year-old for a long time now, and they have finally decided to push for his signature.

While the teenager cannot move to Europe until the end of 2027, Manchester City are looking for a pre-agreement. The player’s agent, Adriano Ribeiro, has confirmed that City have made significant progress in talks with Palmerias and will soon table an offer.

While the player’s camp is working with the idea that the offer will be worth around €40 million in fixed terms, along with bonuses, the Brazilian club are only willing to consider offers from around €50 million in fixed fees.

Palmeiras are aware that no club will come close to his €100 million release clause, but they certainly won’t let him leave on the cheap. They are in no rush to negotiate his departure and have already turned down a low-ball offer worth €25 million plus €15 million in bonuses, a package that could have reached €40 million overall.

While Manchester City are going after the 16-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, it will be interesting to see what plans they have for the attacking sensation, who looks destined for greatness.
