Juventus rekindle move for Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the summer

Serie A giants Juventus have revived their interest in Manchester United flop Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the summer transfer window.

Joshua Zirkzee has had another disappointing season at Manchester United, and he now looks set to part ways with the Premier League giants this summer. There are high chances of the Dutch international making a return to the Serie A.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Juventus are once again keen on signing the United forward. The Old Lady have revived their interest in Zirkzee ahead of the summer’s transfer window. The player seems desperate for a change of scenery, and the Serie A giants are ready to offer him a chance to revive himself.

Zirkzee made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2024 on the back of his impressive performances for Bologna. United had massive expectations from the 24-year-old striker, who hasn’t been able to live up to them.

In his debut campaign, he was involved in 49 matches. While he racked up over 2,200 minutes, the Dutch forward could only find the back of the net seven times. Things have gone from bad to worse this term, as he hasn’t been able to get regular minutes.

He has been involved in just 21 matches and has been on the pitch for less than 600 minutes. The 24-year-old is completely frustrated by his current situation and looks set to push for an exit in the summer.

He wants an immediate change of scenery, and the Red Devils are ready to listen to offers for the former Bayern Munich forward. Juventus, who have been long-term admirers of the youngster, are once again considering making a move.

Juventus are back in the market for Zirkzee

While they haven’t succeeded in striking a deal for him in the past, the Old Lady are considering placing a new bid. Luciano Spalletti has given the green light to the move, amidst uncertainty around the majority of their forwards. Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David, Lois Openda, and Arkadiusz Milik have all been linked with a move away.

Things might not have clicked for Zirkzee in the Premier League, but he has done well in the Serie A in the past. He could prove to be a very valuable signing for the Turin-based outfit. His ability to feature in a variety of positions in the final third could give Spalletti great tactical flexibility.

While United signed him for €42 million, they would be willing to sanction his departure for €30 million. Juventus can certainly afford to meet their demands, but given his recent struggles, they could look to negotiate a lower fee.
