The season hasn’t finished yet, but Paris FC are looking ahead. Assured of a second top-flight campaign, they are aiming to improve their squad during the summer transfer window as they aim to become a mainstay in Ligue 1.
L’Équipe reports that they are fixated on improving the squad, with plenty of key decisions still to be made. Among the biggest will be the future of Antoine Kombouaré. The former FC Nantes manager has stepped up for Stéphane Gilli and rejuvenated this team.
They were narrowly above the relegation zone before his arrival, but in a matter of weeks have climbed up the Ligue 1 table. He admits that he envisioned many scenarios when taking charge, but by all accounts, he’s happy being there and with what the club’s achieved under his watch.
When he was brought in, it was to get this side out of relegation danger, which he’s done. His contract was until the end of this season with an option to extend another year. Given the team’s consistency under his leadership, it appears certain he’ll be offered an extension, L’Équipe understands.
