Juventus and Milan Not Making Progress for Lewandowski

The agent of Robert Lewandowski, Pini Zahavi, recently spent a few days in Italy to talk with Juventus and Milan. Neither of the two Serie A powerhouses took a decisive step toward signing the Polish legend, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).

The Bianconeri consider his requests, primarily the wages, too expensive. They are in a holding pattern at the position, waiting to sort out whether Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David will still be with them.

Milan are slightly ahead of Juventus for Lewandowski, as they didn’t scoff at his demands. However, their front office is rarely in lockstep on most matters. They are divided on whether to proceed in this case as well. Not every official is fully convinced of doing the deal.

The marksman has been offered a renewal at a lower rate by Barcelona. He has also drawn proposals from the MLS and Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern league offers the largest contract.

Zahavi has also informed the two Italian sides that David Alaba will most likely leave Real Madrid, as his deal is running out. He has featured just 14 times this campaign due to a few calf injuries and the competition. His salary is massive, as he’s been earning €10M net during his time in Spain.

Our Take on Milan, Juventus, and Lewandowski

The Rossoneri got lucky with Luka Modric last year, who accepted a somewhat modest contract since he was a fan, but it looks like it won’t be the case this time around. Since both clubs have had severe offensive problems this season, and big-ticket strikers cost a fortune, they should consider making a sacrifice for a year or two if the request isn’t exorbitant.
