Bournemouth have no intention of negotiating the departure of Eli Junior Kroupi this summer. They will block any potential exit, and even a €100 million offer from interested clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona won’t be enough to get a deal over the line.
The club’s CEO, Tiago Pinto, has made their intentions quite clear while speaking to 365Scores. He said via Diario Sport, “Junior Kroupi will not leave Bournemouth. His contract still has more than four years to run, there is no release clause and he will not be going anywhere. We will not sell Kroupi even if Barcelona or Liverpool offer €100 million. That is completely ruled out,”
Following an impressive rise at FC Lorient, the Cherries struck a deal for the 19-year-old striker at the start of 2025. They allowed him to continue at the Ligue 1 club for the remainder of the season before he moved to the Vitality Stadium last summer.
The French youth international has been impressive at his new club. Kroupi has been involved in a total of 31 Premier League games, and he has bagged 12 goals. While he did not have a prominent role in the first half of the season, the youngster has managed to impress Andoni Iraola and has started 13 out of their last 16 league outings.
Apart from his exceptional finishing, the teenager is versatile enough to feature anywhere in the final third, and he has great technical abilities. His impressive rise has caught the attention of a number of top clubs, who could knock on Bournemouth’s door in the summer. The 19-year-old could certainly be tempted by an offer from a top club, but Bournemouth do not seem to have any intentions of letting him leave. With his contract running until 2030, the Cherries will block an exit irrespective of the offer on the table.
Liverpool and Barcelona are two of the biggest contenders for his signature. The Reds invested heavily in Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak to revamp their attack last summer. However, Ekitike and Isak have both picked up long-term injuries at different junctures this season. As a result, they are once again in the market for a new striker, and Junior Kroupi could be a great investment for the long run.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are looking for someone who can help replace Robert Lewandowski in the long run. While they will certainly look for a proven striker, the Catalan giants are also keen on adding Junior Kroupi to their setup. Even the youngster is interested in a move to Camp Nou.
However, both European giants have received a massive blow as Bournemouth won’t let him go even if they table a €100 million offer. Pinto has made it quite clear that the teenager is not going anywhere. He has been one of the biggest revelations of the Premier League this season, and the Cherries want him around next season as well.
