Several Serie A teams will soon be looking for a new coach as very few gaffers will be confirmed for sure. Christian Chivu will soon re-up his contract with Inter, Gian Piero Gasperini will have even more power at Roma, and Cesc Fabregas will continue to be Como’s mastermind. One of the few threats, Chelsea, have chosen Xabi Alonso.
According to La Repubblica, it’ll be up to Massimiliano Allegri and Luciano Spalletti to decide whether to stay amid some likely changes in the Milan and Juventus front offices. Antonio Conte will bid farewell to Napoli. The Partenopei have been in touch with Maurizio Sarri. However, Atalanta, which won’t keep Raffaele Palladino, are pushing for him, offering long-term stability and reunion with Cristiano Giuntoli.
Bologna’s Vincenzo Italiano is waiting in the wings. He could be a fallback for a few top Serie A sides. Sassuolo’s Fabio Grosso and Udinese’s Kosta Runjaic could jump onto bigger clubs as well. The former is wanted by Fiorentina, which are on the fence about Paolo Vanoli, but could also have better opportunities. The latter is an alternative for La Dea and has suitors abroad.
Parma have reservations about Carlos Cuesta’s style. Daniele De Rossi will likely continue helming Genoa. Thiago Motta has been linked to a few openings, but could replace José Mourinho at Benfica.
Venezia and Frosinone will confirm promotion-winning bosses Giovanni Stroppa and Massimiliano Alvini. Two up-and-comers are likely to make it to Serie A regardless: Juve Stabia’s Ignazio Abate and Catanzaro’s Alberto Aquilani. Sassuolo and Torino, which unsuccessfully tried to hire Gennaro Gattuso, are contemplating them.
Things are bound to get interesting and, if Milan and Juventus choose or have to go in new directions too, which isn’t very likely, they’ll get wild.
