Paris FC considering Bruno Genesio to take over as coach should Antoine Kombouaré leave

If Antoine Kombouaré has successfully fulfilled the task entrusted to him of keeping Paris FC in Ligue 1 this season, will the 62-year-old manager still be at the helm next August? Difficult to say.

Although the club’s management hopes to continue with him for the 2026–27 season, the Nouméa-born coach, from New Caledonia, must let them know in the coming days whether or not he will be able to take up the post for the season.

For it is not Kombouaré’s desire to continue with PFC that is in question, but rather his ability to do so. Having undergone knee surgery in the winter, he had postponed the operation on his other leg in view of his commitments with the Parisians. To the detriment of his own physical health.

Faced with this situation, which cannot be left unresolved for long, the club’s directors had no choice but to explore various options to find a potential replacement, in case Kombouaré wished to step back. And so the name of Bruno Genesio, whose departure from LOSC Lille was recently made official, came to the fore. According to L’Équipe, contacts have reportedly even been made between the various parties.

Regarded as a manager capable of meeting Paris FC’s needs, the 59-year-old coach will now have to make a decision, having also recently been linked with Olympique de Marseille.
