Le Havre want Demba Ba as new sporting director

Mathieu Bodmer confirmed on the final day of the Ligue 1 season that he would be leaving his role as the sporting director of Le Havre AC, referencing difficulties behind the scenes as the motive. It came just after Le Hac had ensured their safety in Ligue 1.

Bodmer’s exit from Le Havre was confirmed earlier this week. He is expected to join Kylian Mbappé-owned SM Caen in the third tier. The Normand club, meanwhile, have been in the market for a replacement, and they may now have found one, as per a report from L’Équipe.

Former Chelsea forward Demba Ba has been the sporting director at Ligue 2 club USL Dunkerque since 2023, and during the 2024/25 season, the side qualified for the promotion playoffs, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.

An agreement between Le Havre and Ba has not yet been reached but the Ligue 1 club are keen to seal a deal.
