Rennes’s Glen Kamara to join Queens Park Rangers

Stade Rennais’s Glen Kamara (30) is set to join Queens Park Rangers, according to reports from journalist Fabrizio Romano. A loan deal with an option to buy has been agreed between the two clubs.

Having arrived in Brittany from Leeds United for a fee of €10m in the summer of 2024, the midfielder has had a difficult spell there. Having made just 13 appearances at the end of his first season – which included a five-month loan spell at Al-Shabab (14 appearances) – he managed only 88 minutes of playing time during his second year with Les Rouge et Noir.

Much too meagre a tally for the Finnish international, who has 70 caps (two goals) to his name and is under contract with SRFC until 2028.

By joining QPR, Kamara hopes to relaunch his career, returning to the United Kingdom where he was trained and played for over a decade, having represented Southend United, Arsenal, Colchester United, the Peacocks, Dundee FC and Rangers in succession.
