Inter Miami will look to close the gap on Eastern Conference leaders Nashville SC when the two sides meet at Nu Stadium on Saturday.
The Herons are nine points behind Nashville SC and need a victory to keep their Supporters’ Shield hopes alive, while Nashville will be determined to bounce back after suffering their first MLS defeat since late July.
Inter Miami have endured another frustrating spell after appearing to rediscover their best form. The Herons followed their spectacular 7-1 victory over CF Montreal with consecutive draws against Atlanta United and Chicago Fire, dropping four valuable points in the process.
Despite that inconsistency, their attacking numbers remain outstanding as Miami are the highest-scoring team in MLS with 59 goals, averaging a league-best 2.5 goals per match. They have also accumulated 51.3 expected goals, the second-highest figure in the competition.
Their home form provides further encouragement, as Miami have not been shut out in any regular-season home match at Nu Stadium in 2026, and Kily Gonzalez remains unbeaten since taking charge. The Herons have also enjoyed considerable success against Nashville on home soil, going unbeaten in their last eight home matches against the Boys in Gold across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Nashville remain in an excellent position despite their midweek setback.
