Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho made clear that he was far from satisfied, despite his side’s comeback victory over AS Roma on Wednesday.
Specifically, the Portuguese was left angered by Los Blancos’ collective defensive efforts.
Real Madrid are of course fresh off another outing on the continent which will live long in the memory. After making the trip to Italy for a Champions League clash with Roma, the visitors found themselves trailing by two goals inside the closing 10 minutes.
A trio of late set-piece goals, however, turned the clash completely on its head, ensuring that Real emerged triumphant from a seven-goal thriller.
Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of his side’s latest ‘Remontada’ was in turn put to the aforementioned José Mourinho.
The veteran tactician, though, made use of the opportunity to vent his frustrations, highlighting the ease with which Donyell Malen broke in behind to put Roma two goals to the good during the 2nd-half:
“The 3rd goal we conceded was ridiculous. We cannot concede a goal like this at this level.”
