Liverpool learn asking price for Mohammed Kudus

Arne Slot’s Liverpool can now sign West Ham United attacking mainstay Mohammed Kudus for less than his release clause.

According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool can now sign West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus for £70 million, with the Hammers open to negotiating a fee below his release clause. The Reds are keen on reinforcing their attack and Kudus’ name is quite high on their wishlist.

The Ghanaian international made a name for himself at Ajax before joining the London club in the summer of 2023. He has only gone from strength to strength over the last two seasons and has established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old contributed towards 23 goals in his debut campaign at West Ham but things haven’t been that great for him this time around as the club has struggled as a whole. They have been forced to fight for survival and Kudus has only been able to contribute towards six goals across competitions.

Despite his disappointing numbers in the final third, he has still been one of the standout performers for the London club. Kudus’ contract at West Ham runs until the summer of 2028 but there are high chances of him making a move in the summer.

The player seems ready for a move to a bigger club, while the Hammers could look to cash in on him as it will allow them to reinforce their squad following a disappointing campaign. While he has a £80 million release clause for domestic rivals, the London club are willing to offer a £10 million discount.

Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Kudus

They are willing to listen to offers of around £70 million which could be a massive boost for Liverpool, who are interested in signing the 24-year-old. The Reds will certainly be in the market for more firepower ahead of next season as Arne Slot isn’t entirely pleased with the current options at his disposal.

Kudus can certainly help his cause as he can feature anywhere across the frontline. He will add goals as well as creativity and has ample experience of playing in the English top flight. His strong physical presence and his ability to take on defenders do make him an attractive option for the Reds but even a £70 million deal could prove to be difficult for the Merseyside club.

However, they could look to pull it off by cashing on Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota who have all been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks. While Kududs is one of the names on Slot’s wishlist, he is not their priority target, as a result, it will be interesting to see if they do make a move for him.
