According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Benjamin Sesko is expected to be on the move this summer as multiple top clubs are interested in his signature. He could be heading to the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all keen on signing him. The Gunners are believed to be best placed to sign the RB Leipzig star.
Sesko made a name for himself at Red Bull Salzburg before moving to sister club RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023. The youngster has only gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons, and he has established himself as one of the best young strikers in Europe.
The 21-year-old has been involved in 43 matches this season and has contributed towards 27 goals (21 goals, 6 assists). His consistent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in England, who have been constantly scouting ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Benjamin Sesko was on fire against Bayern Munich on Saturday night. He found the back of the net in a thrilling 3-3 draw and recently left a mark on the Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool scouts, who were present in the stands to watch him in action.Sesko’s camp have been in active talks with all three Premier League clubs, and a move to England appears to be the most likely outcome. While Nicolas Jackson has been doing a decent job up top for Enzo Maresca’s team, the Italian seeks more firepower.
He wants someone who can compete with him for a place in the XI, and Benjamin Sesko can certainly help their cause. Meanwhile, Arne Slot is not happy with the output of his current forwards and with Darwin Nunez expected to be on the move, the Slovenian international could replace him at Anfield. Given his age, he could be a long-term solution for them.
While Chelsea and Liverpool are both keen on his signature. Arsenal are believed to be the front-runners to land Benjamin Sesko at this stage. They have conducted extensive background work to bring the 21-year-old to North London in the summer.
Mikel Arteta wants a world-class number nine to lead his attack starting next season. While Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s priority target, signing him from rivals Newcastle United won’t be easy, and Sesko could be a great alternative.
He could help them in the short as well as the long run, and his track record suggests he can certainly add a lot of goals to the team. The report suggests the Slovenian might be leaning towards a move to Arsenal after having turned down the opportunity to join them last season.
He decided to continue at RB Leipzig for another season when the Gunners wanted him last summer. But this time around he seems ready to make the jump. He is keen on joining them and his agents are content with how things are moving at this stage. While Arsenal are front-runners, Chelsea and Liverpool also admire him and cannot be ruled out just yet.
