‘We are the league of farmers’ – PSG head coach Luis Enrique pokes fun after knocking Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal out of the Champions League

PSG head coach Luis Enrique was in a joyful mood after Les Parisiens qualified for the Champions League final at Arsenal’s expense. The Ligue 1 champions inflicted an aggregate 3-1 defeat on Mikel Arteta’s Gunners to set up a fascinating Champions League final against Simone Inzaghi’s Inter. “It means a lot, a lot. Everybody dreams of getting to a Champions League final. Our first goal when we arrived in Paris was to make history, and we are on the right pathLuis Enrique said to TNT Sports.

The former Spain national team manager was asked about PSG’s opponents in Munich, Inter, and expects a tough game. But he adds that Inter will probably feel the same way about the Ligue 1 champions. Luis Enrique reminds that Inter have reached their second UCL final in three years, which makes them a great team. “But we have time to analyze them. Now is the time to celebrate.”

Luis Enrique was then asked about his impressive record this season against Premier League opposition. PSG notably delivered a remarkable 4-2 comeback win against Manchester City before knocking Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal out of the Champions League knock-out stages. “The League of farmers, no? We are the League of farmers. Yeah, it’s nice. We’re not only enjoying the result, but also the compliments of everybody speaking about our team.”
