A couple of years after signing Philipp Köhn (27), AS Monaco could soon add another Swiss-born goalkeeper to their ranks.
According to L’Équipe, Axel Decrenisse is set to join the Ligue 1 side, currently fighting for a spot in the UEFA Champions League. He would integrate the club’s La Diagonale academy.
Decrenisse was born in Geneva but has collected eight caps for the France U-16 squad, The youngster currently plays for the Servette FC’s youth squad in Switzerland.
Köhn, the second-choice keeper for Les Monégasques in the second half of last season, has re-taken his place as the number one, with Radoslaw Majecki (25) on the bench over the past few weeks.
Decrenisse was named the best goalkeeper at the previous Montaigu tournament, a competition contested by numerous clubs and countries.
With two fixtures remaining in Ligue 1 this season, Monaco are third in the table, one point above arch-rivals OGC Nice for the last automatic Champions League place next season and just one point below Olympique de Marseille for second.
