Manchester City abandon Florian Wirtz move

Manchester City have decided to withdraw from the Florian Wirtz chase with Liverpool and Bayern Munich very much in the race.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City are no longer part of the race for Florian Wirtz, amid financial concerns over a deal. Pep Guardiola’s side were keen to land the German playmaker, who now looks destined to leave Bayer Leverkusen as Liverpool and Bayern Munich are still in the race.

Liverpool are part of the race and held talks with Wirtz’s parents recently over the idea of joining them in the summer. The Merseysiders are still seen as a second choice for Wirtz if they are one of the only two clubs alongside Bayern Munich in the race.

Bayern Munich reportedly have an agreement with his parents over a move and believes they will get the player in the summer. Wirtz is also ready to join them over other suitors, although any move to the Bavarians will depend on the finances involved in the deal, although they are seen as the favourites over Liverpool at the current moment.
