According to a report by German outlet BILD, Josip Juranovic is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Kenny Tete’s long-term future. So, the 29-year-old Union Berlin full-back has emerged as a target for the West London club.
Josip Juranovic has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Union Berlin from Celtic in January 2023. A native of Zagreb, the Croat spent his formative years in his homeland, spending some time with NK Croatia Sesvete on either side of his stints with NK Dubrava Tim kabel, graduating from the latter club’s academy.
However, the 29-year-old rose in prominence after his exploits at UEFA Euro 2020 and saw his stock soar during his spell with Celtic before moving to the Bundesliga over two years ago. Juranovic has been in and out of the starting lineup throughout his spell with Union Berlin but has enjoyed a solid second half of the 2024/25 season.
The Croatian international has turned out over 50 times thus far for Union Berlin while chipping in with four goals and six assists. While Juranovic is happy at the Bundesliga club, Premier League outfits, including Fulham, will test the waters by pursuing his signature in the summer transfer window.
Josip Juranovic has been on Fulham’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Kenny Tete has entered the final few weeks of his contract with the West London club. In addition, Timothy Castagne is not good enough to be the undisputed first-choice right-back for Fulham.
So, several candidates, including Kyle Walker-Peters, have emerged on Fulham’s radar. However, Juranovic is also a viable target, considering his quality and experience. The Croat may not cost a bomb, with Union Berlin valuing him at around €4 million. However, convincing him to part ways with the Bundesliga club will be a tall order.
The 29-year-old Croatian international is happy and settled at Union Berlin. So, while the Premier League is an attractive competition, Fulham will likely face an uphill task to land him. In addition, the Cottagers face stiff competition from Burnley for Juranovic’s signature.
