Fenerbahce, Galatasaray rival Arsenal in Leroy Sane chase, Tottenham rule out move

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are reportedly to challenge Arsenal for Leroy Sane as Tottenham Hotspur bow out of the race.

Leroy Sane’s future remains a hot topic as the Bayern Munich winger continues to delay a decision on his next move. The German international is yet to agree to a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions, and interest is growing across Europe and beyond. Turkish powerhouses Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have now entered the race in earnest, joining Arsenal as front-runners, while Tottenham Hotspur have officially ruled themselves out of contention.

According to reports from Sky Sport via Florian Plettenberg on X, Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho, are preparing a lucrative offer, willing to pay Sane a net annual salary of around €15 million. Galatasaray have already submitted a proposal in the €10-12 million range, showing their serious intent. While clubs from Saudi Arabia remain interested, Sane has so far shown little appetite for a move to the Middle East.

Arsenal Remain in the Frame as Bayern Munich Push for Renewal

Arsenal continue to monitor Sane’s situation and could make a move should Bayern Munich fail to secure a contract extension. The Gunners have long admired the winger’s pace, creativity, and Premier League pedigree from his time at Manchester City, and he would offer an immediate injection of top-level experience to Mikel Arteta’s attack.

However, Bayern have not given up on keeping the 28-year-old. The club recently modified their renewal offer, upping the guaranteed salary while lowering performance-based bonuses, in an effort to convince him to stay at the Allianz Arena. The new proposal is said to reflect Bayern’s desire to keep Sané as a key part of their plans under their incoming head coach, with a decision expected in the coming days.

Tottenham Out of the Running for Leroy Sane, Saudi Option Fading

Despite early speculation, Tottenham Hotspur are no longer in the race for Sane’s signature. The North London club have decided to pursue other targets this summer, with no plans to make an offer for the Bayern Munich star. Meanwhile, interest from Saudi Pro League clubs persists, but Sane has not shown much enthusiasm for a move away from Europe’s top competitions.

This leaves Arsenal and the two Turkish giants as the most serious contenders for now. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are both offering a central role and Champions League football, but whether Sane is ready to leave Bayern, or even Germany, is still unclear.

Sane is a proven talent who could elevate any attack in Europe, and Arsenal’s interest is understandable. He brings pace, creativity, and experience, all attributes Arteta could use as the Gunners gear up for another Premier League title push.

However, with big offers coming in from Turkiye and Bayern still in the mix, Arsenal must be cautious not to get drawn into a financial bidding war. If the price is right, Sane could be a shrewd addition. If not, the Gunners would do well to prioritise value and long-term fit over marquee names.
