Tottenham, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, West Ham United vying for Federico Gatti

Tottenham, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United to battle for the signature of Juventus defensive mainstay Federico Gatti.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Federico Gatti could be heading to the Premier League this summer as his future at Juventus is up in the air. Tottenham, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United are all interested in his services and could end up making a move for him.

Gatti joined the Old Lady at the start of 2022 on a short-loan deal from Frosinone. The move was then made permanent in the summer of that year. He has since been an important part of the Juventus first team.

Last season, the 26-year-old Italian centre-back was involved in a total of 42 matches. He racked up over 3,200 minutes of first-team football and even contributed towards three goals.

While his contract at the Turin-based club runs until the summer of 2028, he is facing an uncertain future this summer. He is open to a move to the Premier League where clubs like Tottenham, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham have been put on alert because of his current situation.

Four Premier League clubs are keen on Gatti

The 26-year-old has played quite regularly at Juventus but he could look to part ways with the club if he is offered a more prominent role elsewhere. Tottenham and Newcastle have a concrete interest in him and could soon make a formal offer if he decides to leave Turin.

Spurs want to add more quality and depth to their backline amidst uncertainly around Cristian Romero’s future. Meanwhile, Newcastle are looking to freshen things up at the back as Dan Burn and Fabian Schar are in the final phase of their career.

Meanwhile, Villa and West Ham also seek more quality at the back and have asked to be kept informed about the Italian international’s situation. While Gatti is interested in a move to the Premier League, he could still end up staying at Juventus.

He has a decent role at the club and has recently had initial talks over a new contract with improved terms. If he decides not to proceed with those talks, English clubs could then pounce on the opportunity. The 26-year-old could be available for around €35 million, with Juventus under pressure to sell and balance their books. This could prove to be a bargain fee for some of his quality.
