Tottenham in transfer tussle to sign Caspar Jander

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly compete with Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign 22-year-old German midfield prospect Casper Jander from FC Nurnberg.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Casper Jander is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their midfield unit in the summer transfer window by signing a versatile midfielder. So, the 22-year-old FC Nurnberg prospect has emerged as a target for the North London club.

Who is Casper Jander?

Casper Jander is the latest highly-rated midfielder to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Muenster, the youngster spent his formative years in Germany, passing through the academies at Germania Mauritz, Preussen Munster, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Schalke 04 before graduating from the youth division at MSV Duisburg.

FC Nurnberg signed the 22-year-old from MSV Duisburg last summer, and he came leaps and bounds in the 2024/25 season. Jander was a regular in the middle of the park for Nurnberg this term, amassing nearly 3,000 minutes of game time across 34 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with three goals and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Jander’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing the German midfield prospect, with Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers vying for his signature. However, Tottenham Hotspur will aim to beat the competition to his signature in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Casper Jander is understandable. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Yves Bissouma’s long-term future. The Malian international is a target for several high-profile clubs, including Fenerbahce, and a summer departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may be on the cards.

So, several candidates, including Yehor Yarmolyuk, have emerged on Tottenham’s radar, with Jander also a viable target. The FC Nurnberg prospect’s age profile and potential make him an appealing target for the North London outfit.

However, Tottenham will face stiff competition from Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers for Jander’s signature in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see if the 22-year-old German midfield prospects arrives in England in the coming weeks.
