According to Defensa Central, Arsenal are eyeing another one of Real Madrid’s attacking stars, with Brahim Diaz firmly on their radar. The Gunners are eager to bolster their attacking setup, with the Real Madrid star now viewed as a viable option, especially if they miss out on Rodrygo Goes.
Arsenal are yet to make inroads with their quest of bolstering Mikel Arteta’s attacking setup. The Spanish manager is eager to bring in at least one striker and a left winger to improve their chances in the final third and challenging for major honours next season.
Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are considered the top targets for the centre-forward role, while Arsenal are very much interested in Rodrygo Goes for the left-wing role. It appears the north Londoners have set sights on another Real Madrid player Brahim Diaz, which could see them waiting to find out the Spanish giants’ stance on the Morrocan.
Arsenal’s chase of Rodrygo might have collapsed as per a few reports which stated Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is eager to keep him. Hence, it somewhat makes sense for the report to connect them to Diaz, who Arteta knows very well following their time together at Manchester City. Diaz has had an indifferent season with 13 goals and assists, but he was not seen as a sure starter under the previous manager.
The Gunners are reportedly willing to pay as much as €50 million to sign the Real Madrid playmaker, which might be seen as a sizeable fee by all parties concerned. It remains to be seen whether Diaz wants to make the move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, as the arrival of Franco Mastantuono further threatens his place in the team.
Diaz is a versatile attacker who can play across the front line, and operate on both feet. While he may not be the ideal left-wing option that Arteta wants, and nowhere close to the quality of a Rodrygo. However, should the club view the 13 G/A Real Madrid playmaker as a viable alternative to the Brazilian, then Arteta may see a lot of use of the Moroccan in his system.
Any move will depend on the player and Real Madrid’s stance on the Moroccan, as Alonso reported would love to keep him. However, with the increased competition for places at the Santiago Bernabeu, there’s a wider expectation that one of Diaz or Rodrygo could depart, which would end up benefitting Arsenal either way.
