La Liga outfit Athletic Club have on Monday announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Basque outfit? Robert Navarro.
Attacking midfielder/winger Navarro for his part spent this past season plying his trade on the books of RCD Mallorca.
The 23-year-old, all told, racked up 23 La Liga appearances, before being struck down by a long-term injury back in March.
The problem for Mallorca, though, had long been the fact that Navarro put pen to paper on only a one-year contract at Son Moix last summer.
The possibility of him departing as a free agent was therefore always a very real one.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, precisely as much has been confirmed.
After Mallorca first released a statement, confirming Navarro’s exit, the aforementioned Athletic Club followed up with an announcement of their own, as follows:
‘Athletic Club have signed Robert Navarro as a free agent, with the forward agreeing a five-year contract, which will run until 30 June 2030.’
