La Liga outfit Espanyol have on Friday announced the news which those across the club’s fanbase have so long been waiting for.
This comes amid confirmation that captain and attacking star Javi Puado has put pen to paper on a new contract.
The subject of Puado’s future had dominated the headlines at the RCDE Stadium for some time heading into the summer.
As much came with all associated with Espanyol having been aware of the impending expiration of their club icon’s contract terms.
Puado, in turn, was tipped as a potential arrival at a whole host of sides across the La Liga landscape.
As alluded to above, however, on Friday, the 27-year-old’s many suitors have officially missed out on his signature.
This comes owing to the following announcement across Espanyol’s website and social media platforms:
‘RCD Espanyol and Javi Puado will remain together for a further four seasons, as the two parties have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract until June 30th, 2030.’
We're delighted to announce that our captain Javi Puado has signed a new contract at #RCDE 🤍 💙
