West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign El Bilal Toure

West Ham United will reportedly compete with seven clubs to sign 23-year-old Malian striker El Bilal Toure from Serie A club Atalanta in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Africa Foot, El Bilal Toure is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 23-year-old Atalanta centre-forward has emerged as a target for the East London club.

However, the Premier League club will face stiff competition from seven other clubs for the African attacker’s signature, with Marseille, Stade Rennais, Paris FC, Como 1907, Villarreal, Galatasaray, and Wolverhampton Wanderers also keen on signing him from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.

El Bilal Toure and his struggles

El Bilal Toure has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Atalanta from UD Almeria in a deal worth €30 million in July 2023. The 23-year-old striker’s stock was high when he moved to the Serie A club two years ago. However, fitness issues and poor form have plagued him, with a loan stint with VfB Stuttgart not yielding the desired results.

The Malian striker did not even manage 500 minutes of game time across 17 appearances across all competitions for VfB Stuttgart while chipping in with three goals and one assist. However, Toure’s stock in the market is high, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

El Bilal Toure has been on West Ham United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Niclas Fullkrug has struggled to make his mark since arriving from Borussia Dortmund last summer. In addition, Evan Ferguson was underwhelming during his loan stint in the second half of the 2024/25 season.

So, several candidates, including Evann Guessand, have emerged on West Ham United’s radar, with Toure also a viable target. However, the East London outfit will not be alone in the battle for the Atalanta outcast’s signature, with seven other clubs keen on signing him from the Serie A team in the summer transfer window.

West Ham will face stiff competition from Marseille, Stade Rennais, Paris FC, Como 1907, Villarreal, Galatasaray, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. So, it will be interesting to see if they can sign the 23-year-old Malian international in the summer transfer window.
