According to Ekrem Konur, Givairo Read is attracting plenty of interest from some of the top Premier League clubs. Those include Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, with the trio closely looking at the right-back in a bid to make a future approach.
Givairo Read has become one of the talked-about footballers in the Eredivisie following his performances last term as well as this time out. The 19-year-old Dutch wide player has become a key star at Feyenoord under Robin Van Persie, with the Eredivisie side keen to keep hold of him and develop his game further.
Read was recently adviced to stay put at Feyenoord for the foreseeable future, although the level of interest he’s currently garnering could make it difficult for him to reject. He had his breakthrough campaign last season, but this time, he’s taking his game to the next level, with the attention will come as no surprise.
Liverpool and Manchester United were among those who considered a move last summer, as they had kept tabs on him since March of this year. The Merseysiders were linked with multiple names at the time as they were looking at options to replace Trent-Alexander-Arnold. Arne Slot’s side ultimately signed Jeremie Frimpong, but they might not be entirely convinced with their options at right-back.
Arsenal were also linked with Read, as Mikel Arteta has made it a habit to keep looking out for the best defensive talent from around. The Gunners have an all-round defensive setup, probably one of the best in Europe, but they have run the rule on the 19-year-old Dutch wide player, which indicates their interest could be real.
Finally, Manchester United have seen some links with the Dutchman, as they too could be looking to bring in a wide defender, who could be developed differently. For instance, Ruben Amorim is in the market for wing-backs, and while Read is not a specialist in the position, his relatively young age makes it viable for the Portuguese coach to develop his talents in his mould.
Feyenoord may not want to lose the 19-year-old Dutch wide player so soon in his career, which looks promising at the moment. While the Eredivisie giants could potentially keep hold of the player one way or another, it may prove challenging for Read to reject approaches from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United if they knock on the door.
