Manchester United keen on making move to sign Antoine Semenyo

Manchester United are keen on signing Bournemouth attacking sensation Antoine Semenyo, amidst interest from clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad in the upcoming winter transfer window, and according to a report from CaughtOffside, the Red Devils have their eyes on Bournemouth’s Semenyo. While Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen on his signature, Ruben Amorim’s team are looking to steal a march on them.

After making a name for himself at Bristol City, Semenyo joined the Cherries at the start of 2023, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. The 25-year-old seems to have taken his game to the next level of late.

He has been their standout performer in the league with six goals and three assists in his 11 league outings. While he prefers playing out wide on the right, the Ghanaian international is quite comfortable playing anywhere in attack.

Premier League giants could battle for Semenyo

Arsenal and Liverpool are clubs that have been keeping tabs on him for a while now. The Gunners want more quality in the final third to bolster their chances of winning the Premier League, and given his red-hot form, Semenyo could prove to be an exceptional signing for them.

Meanwhile, the Reds are looking to prepare for life without Mohamed Salah, who hasn’t been at his best this season. While he could continue at the club for another season, the Merseyside club are pushing to sign Semenyo to ensure they have a smooth transition.

While both Arsenal and Liverpool are quite keen on his signature, Manchester United are also in the mix. The Red Devils want to leapfrog them in the race. They could try to strike a deal as early as the January transfer window.

Given the kind of success they have had by signing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the summer, they are looking to bring in another Premier League-proven star in Semenyo.

However, Bournemouth remain reluctant to negotiate his departure. With his contract running until 2030, they are in complete control of his future. The Cherries might rethink their stance if they receive an offer in excess of  £65 million, perhaps something close to £80 million.
