According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Wilfried Singo is the subject of interest of Crystal Palace. The Eagles are scouring the market for a right-back amid uncertainties surrounding Daniel Munoz’s long-term future. However, the South London club will face stiff competition from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United for the 24-year-old Galatasaray full-back.
Wilfried Singo has made gradual progress since joining Galatasaray from AS Monaco this past summer. The Grand-Bereby native spent most of his formative years in the Ivory Coast before rising in prominence during his spell with Torino. The 24-year-old was also impressive during his two-year stint with AS Monaco.
However, Singo has been in and out of the starting lineup since joining Galatasaray, and a thigh injury has also stunted his progress. The Ivory Coast international has chipped in with one assist in nine appearances thus far for Galatasaray. However, Singo’s stock in the market is high, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Crystal Palace vying for his signature.
Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United recently scouted the Ivorian full-back, and they may launch a bid to secure his services soon. Arsenal’s interest is intriguing, as while Mikel Arteta has no recognised right-backs in his squad, Jurrien Timber and Ben White have been exceptional in the role.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Wilfried Singo is perplexing, as Arne Slot has two right-backs in his squad. So, it is unclear how the Galatasaray full-back fits into the scheme of things. As for Manchester United, the Red Devils need a new right wing-back, as Diogo Dalot has not been productive enough in the final third.
However, Crystal Palace must dip into the market for a right-back amid uncertainties surrounding Daniel Munoz’s long-term future. The Colombian international faces an uncertain future at the South London club amid his links with several bigwigs. So, Singo has emerged as a viable target for Crystal Palace.
Additionally, Singo’s representatives have held talks with “an unnamed European club” over a possible move. However, Galatasaray will not entertain bids to part ways with the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international in the winter transfer window.
